Every year we bring in several thousand pounds of both of these fruits from local orchards, crush them by hand and add them to a mix of barrels and blends. #Distantfriends#DistantMemoriesisthethirdrelease in our #friends series of mixed fermentation raspberry beers. Every couple of years our brewing team creates a beer from our wood cellar that is meant to spotlight Oregon raspberries. This vintage is richer than previous iterations with a mellower yeast profile and balanced acidity and oak. The beer was aged on over a pound per gallon of fresh berries.

Oort is named after the mysterious region of our solar system that breeds comets. Massive amounts of roasted barley and chocolate malts were combined with three types of caramel malts for a rich, full mouth feel. Chinook, Cascade and Sterling hops lend a balanced bitterness and subtle hop flavor to this brew that’s as black as the vacuum of space.

Named after the mysterious region of our solar system that breeds comets, Oort Imperial Stout has massive amounts of roasted barley combined with three types of Caramel malts for a rich, full mouth feel. Chinook, Cascade and Sterling hops lend a balanced bitterness and subtle hop flavor. This barrel-aged version slumbered for twelve months, imparting notes of rich, bitter chocolate, vanilla and oak.
