Happy Women’s History month!

We’re thrilled to be bringing back a staff favorite in Frauenbier. This schwarzbier is a collaboration between the women of Aslan and pours beautifully black with hints of ruby. A nutty, bready flavor is balanced with flavors of bitter chocolate before finishing smooth, dry, and an essence of floral.

Without a doubt, pils (also called ‘pilsner’) is Germany’s favourite style of beer. Fans of this style of brewing enjoy the dry, bitter flavour and light colour that is typical of the beers it produces. The name originates from the Bohemian town of Pilsen in the Czech Republic, where it was first produced in 1842, and we’ve been brewing this style of beer to perfection here in Bitburg since 1909. We lay claim to using the term "Pilsener" as an official designated beer style in Germany, way back in 1883.

*If you've followed us for a while, you may recognize this can artwork & name from our 2022 Seattle Beer Week IPA. This is not the same beer, though similar stylistically. 

Since then, we've always been drawn back to the Origins name, and the eye popping artwork. We crafted one of our favorite WC IPA recipes to date to be added to our year-round lineup donning the Origins moniker. The Two headed raven, representing our past, and future journeys to come!

Very dark cherry character that truly compliments the vanilla notes from the oak, whiskey, and rich malt character of the base beer.

Our annually released Black Barleywine fermented with house smoked figs, aged in whiskey barrels for one year, and then steeped with sustainably sourced cacao nibs from CRU Chocolate. Rich, bold, smooth with notes of vanilla, cherry, pipe tobacco, cascara, dark chocolate and berries.

While our Radeberger Pilsner is already very special, the brewery loves to provide unique and exclusive taste experiences. We call it Radeberger Pilsner Zwickelbier! This special brew goes through the exact same brewing process as our Pilsner. The only difference: it’s bottled right before filtration. The result: a perfectly crafted, hazy Zwickelbier with a milder, sweeter taste.

Why is it called Zwickelbier you ask? It’s a historical name based on the so called ‚Zwickel‘. The Zwickel is the literal tap handle on the brewing tanks which used to let our brewmasters take samples before bottling.
